Rhea at the birth of Hades.
3ds max, Photoshop
October 2009

Having had this idea and composition for some time, I finally decided to see it to fruition. Rhea was the Titaness daughter of Ouranos, the sky, and Gaia, the earth, in classical Greek mythology. She was known as "the mother of gods." I thought of a less traditional way to show Rhea giving birth to the lord of the Underworld, Hades; this concept of birth is tailored more towards the old Greek Tales and Myths.
Moving forward in the little free-time that I have had this month, I took some "me time" and created this piece. It has been way too long since I created a piece just for the pleasure of it. Glad I did and I hope that you enjoy this new piece.
